ABOUT ME

“You can have ten years of experience or one year of experience ten times.”

My career

My coaching career began in 2009 after playing professional ice hockey for 7 years. For the last 12 years, I have worked for Hockey Club Lugano (Switzerland), progressing from U17 assistant coach to Head of Strength & Conditioning, a position that I have held since 2014. This is a unique opportunity that I have cherished. Continuously challenging myself and exploring the world of high performance has allowed me to gain 12 years of experience as a coach and leader.

My philosophy

My philosophy as a strength and conditioning coach is to help athletes in an ethical manner reach the best possible results in their sports by providing appropriate tools for their athletic development with an athlete-centred and outcome-focussed approach, while offering an education aimed at providing athletes greater long-term autonomy and responsibility.

What drives me

As a leader, I am motivated by helping athletes and coaches fulfil their potential through a collaboration where my role is to challenge, educate, inspire, and motivate them.

As a Head of Strength & Conditioning, I am driven to provide the best performance opportunity to the team as well as individualised athletic development pathways to players, while optimising the club’s human and financial resources. Reaching the 2018 National League Final with 13 home-grown players in our roster epitomised this vision.

Last but not least, as a father, I hope to inspire my children to dream and confidently have great goals, all while showing them the value of work, loyalty and accountability.
